WEST YELLOWSTONE, MT

West Yellowstone is Montana’s busiest tourist town and the entrance to Yellowstone National Park. They host over 3.5 million visitors each year during every season. West Yellowstone had the creative idea to cover unsightly traffic signal boxes and bear-proof trash cans—or “bear boxes”—with images from their four-season town and art that reflects the beauty of the surrounding area. Summer visitors are reminded of snowmobiling and cross-country skiing while winter visitors dream are reminded of returning in the spring to view blooming wildflowers from the river’s edge.
